Get Involved

Each year, Business Horizons is made possible through the collaborative effort of staff, volunteers, supporters, and partners from across the state. The ABI Foundation enlists the assistance of many individuals and organizations in order to ensure that the program is a fun and meaningful experience for all participants. Below are a few ways that you and your organization can get involved in Business Horizons.

Nominate Student Participants

Encouragement from educators, family and friends is the most powerful tool when it comes to students making the wise decision to participate in Business Horizons. Being nominated for Business Horizons is not only an honor and a confidence-booster for students, but it also shows them that their future is important and they are supported by others. Nominations are accepted year-round online here. Nominees will receive information about the program and details on how to sign up. Nominate a forward-thinking student you know today!

Volunteer with Business Horizons

Volunteers play an immense role in the success of Business Horizons each summer. The program typically hosts more than 75 volunteers throughout the five-day program, providing invaluable connections for students. Volunteer roles and time commitments vary from week-long "advisors" for the student groups, to daily competition judges and consultants. Participants benefit tremendously by meeting successful adult professionals with a variety of career paths. If you’re interested in joining the Business Horizons volunteer team, we would love to hear from you.

Become a Program Sponsor

The ABI Foundation partners with individuals and organizations across the state to provide the Business Horizons experience to 80-100 high school students each year. The program would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors who help support our mission. Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available, including student program scholarships for those needing financial assistance to attend, activity or meal sponsorships and more. Supporting Business Horizons is an excellent way to give back and receive statewide recognition.

Student Ambassadors

Business Horizons is currently accepting applications for 2024 Ambassadors, a key position on our volunteer team. Any 2023 program participant is invited to apply to return to the program this summer in one of six Ambassador positions. Ambassadors help make the program a success by mentoring new participants and assisting staff/volunteers throughout the week. Interested students should click here to learn more about the Ambassador role and application process.

The 2024 Ambassador application deadline is FRIDAY, APRIL 26. Interested candidates must submit an online application and have a teacher, counselor, manager, or other individual (non-relative) in position of authority who knows them well complete a recommendation form by this deadline. Recommendation forms may also be downloaded here.
