Less than ONE Week Away - ABI’s Annual Legislative Briefing and Reception ABI
will host its annual Legislative Briefing and Reception on Wednesday,
January 16, 2008, at the Science Center of Iowa in downtown A
reception will follow from 5:30-7:30 pm with all 150 Health Care Commission Issues Report On Tuesday, January 8, the Affordable Health Care Commission met to finalize their recommendations to the Iowa Legislature. The 25 member panel approved a report with broad goals for improving health and insurance coverage for Iowans. Objectives to improve health and wellness of all Iowans; provide affordable insurance coverage for all Iowans; and insuring children were included as priorities. Amy DeBruin, Interpower, Oskaloosa, represents ABI on the commission and played a key role in making sure that employers’ voices were heard during the eight commission meetings around the state. Thank you Amy for your service. The Commission hopes to have additional meetings into the spring as the legislature considers goals and recommendations from the report.
