Sandra Quilty currently serves as the co-chair of Iowans for Wellness & Prevention. She works independently on a variety of health care issues ranging from educating and providing awareness about the importance of wellness and prevention, tobacco control, efficacy of antibiotics, amongst other things. Formerly, she was the State Director of Government Relations for the American Cancer Society where she led a statewide coalition in ultimately increasing Iowa's tobacco excise tax by $1 and setting the stage for passage of a near comprehensive statewide smoking ban in most public places. Prior, Sandra served as in-house counsel and lobbyist for Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa where she worked on various family and reproductive health care issues. She received her Juris Doctorate from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 1998 with an emphasis in Health Law through its Certificate program; and received a B.A. from the University of Washington in 1993.
