2007 ABI Prosperity Agenda
ABI believes the short- and long-term prosperity of Iowa depends on the successful development of new and existing business and industry. Vigorous economic development can best be realized through a superior business, regulatory and tax climate. To achieve these goals, ABI offers our 2007 Legislative Priorities and Policies that we believe encompass the tools necessary to grow Iowa's economy.

HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE |
| |
ABI supports all reasonable initiatives that will reduce and stabilize the growth of premiums, including: |
increased flexibility for employers to pool together to purchase health insurance for their employees and maintain existing protections of Iowa’s small-group health insurance law; |
focused tax credits and other incentives for small employers to maintain coverage and decrease the number of uninsured Iowans; |
increased rating flexibility and incentives for voluntary wellness initiatives; and |
opposition to government mandates on private healthcare plans because they threaten the availability of insurance coverage leaving more Iowans uninsured. |
