03/31/08-DNR's Anti-Degradation Proposal
Included in this section are comments from the Iowa Environmental Council on DNR's anti-degradation proposal. DNR wants to make part of their water quality permit reviews an inclusion of wastewater treatment costs up to 15% higher than what is currently implemented, and other affordability and economic tests.  The margin is high and has not historically been part of DNR's environmental protection scope.  The result for Iowa businesses would be wastewater costs 15% higher than their competitors.
