Increases in statewide sales tax from five to six cents to replace school infrastructure local option (SILO) tax.Includes use tax on materials purchased by manufacturers of $40-60 million and road use tax on vehicle purchases of up to $50 million.The Senate proposal would divide the additional use tax revenue to $54 million going to road construction, $24 million going to school construction, and $36 million going to the state general fund.
The bill is effective Effective July 1, 2008
