Job Creation
Through a campaign titled “Its About Jobs” ABI intends to move the discussion of job creation away from politics and towards policy. ABI seeks to cast legislative and policy discussions regarding job creation in an objective light, not a political or subjective one. Iowa must advance a very pro-growth agenda to the benefit of all Iowans. That effort must include the education of legislators and the public on policies that will increase economic activity; partner with the new Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress; and engage community leaders.
Taxes
Reduce the overall tax burden on employers and individuals. Such actions should be equitable, simple, predictable, and include an element of government accountability. Reduction of commercial and industrial property taxes is necessary to make Iowa more competitive for job creation, retention and attraction.
Education
Connect business and industry to the process of reforming our educational system to assure that Iowans have the appropriate skill sets to compete nationally and globally.
Regulatory Reform
Review regulations that affect Iowa’s business climate to assure they do not inhibit businesses from expanding or locating in the state. Iowa’s regulations should not exceed standards established by the federal government.
