Export workshop hosted by regional economic development groups
STORM LAKE -- An export workshop, hosted by area economic development regions, will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Area business that export products or services, or businesses interested in exporting, are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn more about the mechanics of exporting.
Guest speakers will discuss their exporting experience and steps taken to achieve success, factors effecting global trade, available state and federal assistance and the benefits of legal advice.
Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, Northwest Iowa Development, Mid Iowa Growth Partnership and Western Iowa Advantage, in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Economic Development, will partner to host this first annual multi-region export workshop. The seminar will offer a variety of resources from area professionals specializing in exporting products and services. The 2009 Global Iowa Export Award will be presented to one business within each region by the respective regional legislators.
The workshop will include a panel discussion and networking opportunities, as well as a question and answer forum to gather additional information. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the workshop beginning at 10 a.m.
