ABI Issues Statement on New EPA Regulation

February 9, 2024

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Wednesday issued a revised standard for PM2.5 lowering the standard from 12 micrograms to 9 micrograms. ABI issued a statement expressing our disappointment with the proposed rule.

Statement on EPA's New Air Quality Rule:
"Iowans and the Iowa economy are resiliant. However, this is yet another regulatory headwindwe are faced with in rural America that endangers our ability to compete globally. We strongly urge the EPA to reconsider this rule."

ABI has already been in contact with the state Department of Natural Resources and will have a meeting soon about proposed implementation.

Please reach out to ABI if you have any questions or feedback on the new rule.
