ABI Participates in Stakeholder Meeting on Voter Integrity Law

November 30, 2017

ABI was one of several organizations invited by the Secretary of State’s office to participate in a roundtable discussion concerning the voter integrity law that was signed by former Governor Branstad earlier this year. The Secretary of State’s office is partnering with Strategic America, a communications firm, to roll out an education campaign that will explain what the law means for Iowans and how they can make sure they’re taking the right steps to be able to vote.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, voters will be required to show government-issued identification to vote. If they don’t have an I.D., they’ll be required to sign an oath. ABI will provide updates and information to employers and employees about the new law through our grassroots website www.iavotes.com. On the site there are many tools for ABI members to use including the voter toolkit, which provides information on how to register to vote and pertinent information about voting.
