Branstad signs workforce education bill

May 26, 2016

Today, Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds were joined by local legislators, businesses and community college officials at Hawkeye Community College for the bill signing of House File 2392. The legislation was the result of a report developed by a task force, which ABI participated in along with labor organizations, construction trades, community colleges and educators. The task force members worked together to come up with ways to enhance Iowa’s career and technical education (CTE) programs. Workforce readiness and growth is an ABI legislative priority. ABI supported the legislation and appreciates the governor’s and legislators' continued support of education and workforce initiatives.
