Federal Spotlight: U.S. House passes “WOTUS” repeal

January 14, 2016

The U.S. House on Wednesday passed a resolution to repeal the Waters of the United States Rule known as WOTUS. The repeal was introduced by U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and has already passed the Senate. President Obama now must decide whether to sign or veto the legislation. It is expected he will veto the repeal. ABI has worked with state officials and other state associations to educate Congress about the challenges of the rule and why it is bad for the Iowa economy.
