August 30, 2018

DES MOINES—The political action committee for the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, representing 1,500 businesses employing more than 330,000 Iowans, endorsed Governor Reynolds to be Iowa’s next governor today.

ABI board chair David Bywater (Bankers Advertising/Tru Art – Iowa City) and Iowa Industry PAC chair Kirk Tyler (Atlantic Bottling Co. – Des Moines) presented Reynolds with its “Friend of Iowa Business” endorsement at the ABI office in Des Moines.

“Governor Kim Reynolds has shown leadership by supporting free trade and addressing regulatory burdens for Iowa employers,” said ABI Chair David Bywater.

“The Governor is the strongest advocate for a skilled workforce. She understands the number one asset we have as employers is our workforce, and that’s why she’s focused on creating opportunities for Iowans. Because of her leadership, we have been able to invest in Iowa’s greatest asset, our people. We need someone who will speak to the needs of all hard-working Iowans, and we have found that individual in Governor Reynolds,” said Bywater.

“Like many Iowa companies, we’ve experienced growth the past four years,” said Kirk Tyler, chair of Iowa Industry PAC. “We want to ensure this job growth and business investment, which is helping people and communities across our state, continues. We are proud to support Kim Reynolds for Governor to keep Iowa moving forward.”

“Our people are our greatest asset, and I am proud to work with ABI to help Iowans find the good-paying jobs that exist right here in our state. I will continue to work with ABI and its members to ensure we have a skilled workforce ready for the jobs of today and tomorrow. I’m honored to have this endorsement, and let’s keep Iowa moving forward,” said Reynolds.
