Business Horizons accepting applications from motivated students

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation (ABI Foundation) is currently accepting applications for Business Horizons, a summer program where high school students (grades 9-12) learn about career opportunities, the business world, teamwork, leadership and personal development through a week of exciting hands-on experiences, challenges and competitions.
Business Horizons 2017 will take place June 25-29 on the Central College campus in Pella. Students who apply by April 10 will receive priority consideration and a $60 discount on registration. Applications will be accepted until the program is full.
During Business Horizons, students will work with a team to develop a product, design a marketing plan and present their proposal to an investor panel made of volunteer business people and entrepreneurs, similar to the popular ABC show, Shark Tank. Students will also participate in a business simulation, visit local businesses, hear from expert speakers and take part in fun evening activities.
Participants will work alongside professionals, get helpful tips from hiring managers and meet other students from across the state. Business Horizons is a perfect opportunity for students who have the desire to learn what it takes to be successful in the business world, find a career direction, discover their personal strengths, or simply enjoy a unique summer experience on a college campus with new friends. Business Horizons also offers a Media Track for students interested in journalism, writing and communications.
As an added bonus, participants have the ability to earn college credit, as well as a scholarship to Central College. No matter what the motivation, Business Horizons is a fun and worthwhile opportunity for any high school student that offers real-world experience with transformative results.
