Audit of Workforce Development Finds Deficiencies

The Office of Auditor of State recently conducted an audit of the Iowa Workforce Development Department and made recommendations the department should follow to enhance efficiencies in the department. The audit found the department should strengthen its internal controls relating to programs that receive federal funding, state-issued credit cards and unemployment compensation accounts. Workforce Development has responded to the audit by saying they will work to address and fix the problems discovered in the audit. You can read the full report here.
