Department of Revenue Proposes Additional Rules

January 3, 2019

The Department of Revenue continues to propose new rules after the passage of SF 2417, the tax reform bill, last legislative session. The Department of Revenue most recently noticed rules to update sourcing for taxable services, tangible personal products and digital goods. Read the rule. The other two rules it recently noticed include delivery sales of nicotine or vapor products and updates to local option sales and services. Revenue also finalized the manufacturer rule ABI commented on at the Administrative Rules Review Committee last month. The Department also finalized rules for personal transportation services and the water excise tax that needed to be changed due to 2018 legislation. ABI is working, with the help of ABI members, to educate legislators about some of the technical aspects of the tax reform legislation that could affect members and ensure legislative changes are proposed if necessary.
