DNR Explores Sustainable Materials Management Vision

This summer, ABI Director, Public Policy Brad Hartkopf attended a focus group meeting about sustainable materials management. The purpose of the meeting was to hear from a diverse group of stakeholders about their opinions on the waste stream. The DNR is in the process of developing a long-term strategy for materials management and have hired a third party to help with the process. Other states have undertaken similar exercises, and it has resulted in some major changes in policy.
