Employer Vaccine Policy Remains Newsworthy

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) final approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has not quelled the media interest in employer policies regarding the immunization status of their workforces. ABI takes no position on whether an individual should take the vaccine and has testified so before the Iowa House and Senate during the last legislative session. It is an individual’s right to make that determination. However, ABI strongly supports an employer’s right to manage their workplaces as they see fit within the framework of current Iowa law which includes requiring vaccination as a term of employment.
