Federal Spotlight: ABI Signs onto Letter Addressed to National Labor Relations Board

June 3, 2022

ABI has added our name to a letter being spearheaded by one of our federal partners, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The letter calls on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to reject arguments that the Board should impose card check organizing via case law and interfere with employer speech rights that are protected under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). The Chamber notes that in a case called Gemex, the General Counsel (GC) has asked the Board to consider overturning long-standing precedent, and ignore Supreme Court decisions and the plan text of the NLRA. If the Board ends up agreeing with the GC’s position, it could have a significant impact on companies and make it much more challenging to manage businesses. ABI would like to thank the Chamber for leading this important effort.
