Federal Spotlight: Administration regulatory agenda

The Obama Administration has been aggressively using the regulatory process to implement new policies. Some, if not all of the proposed rules, are controversial and will add additional burden to businesses who are trying to comply with all the laws and rules. We learned from the National Association of Manufacturers that late last Thursday, the Obama administration released its Spring Unified Regulatory Agenda for the Department of Labor. It includes several issues that will affect business and industry, such as the “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” executive order, overtime regulations, persuader regulation, and several new OSHA regulations.
