Federal Spotlight: Drug Companies Announce Plans to Boost Delivery of COVID-19 Vaccinations

Pfizer and Moderna both expect to have a combined 220 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine available for delivery by the end of March. Company leaders briefed the House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations this Tuesday. 

The Food and Drug Administration has also provided an analysis finding the efficacy of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine meets the agency’s Emergency Use Authorization requirements. Upon getting this authorization, Johnson & Johnson reports the company will deliver 20 million doses by the end of March. The FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will meet Friday to review the company’s request for Emergency Use Authorization to become the third vaccine available.
