Federal Spotlight: EPA Seeking Comments on Exclusions from Ambient Air

November 15, 2018

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requesting public comments on its draft revised policy document on “Exclusions from ‘Ambient Air’.” The EPA is modifying its 1980s policy on the exclusion of certain areas from the scope of “ambient air” under the Clean Air Act and EPA’s regulations, while still maintaining public health protection. The regulatory definition of ambient air remains as “that portion of the atmosphere, external to buildings, to which the general public has access.” The EPA is accepting comments through Dec. 21. Read the draft guidance and provide comments.
