Federal Spotlight: NAM Board Chair Testifies Before House Committee
May 17, 2018
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board Chair, and Chairman and CEO David Farr of ABI member company Emerson, testified before the House Ways & Means Committee this week. He presented the results of a survey manufacturers from around the country, including Iowa, participated in following the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 being signed into law.
There were some very positive signs in the survey:
- 72 percent of manufacturers report they plan to increase employee wages or benefits.
- 77 percent plan to hire more workers.
- 86 percent have already planned expanded investments.
NAM is sharing the results of the survey with Congress in a campaign called "Keeping Our Promise". NAM is also sharing stories about how manufacturers are benefiting from tax reform and what these companies are doing to help spur growth. You can check out their blog. Thanks to NAM for the information in this week’s Federal Spotlight article.
