Federal Spotlight: New Congress sworn in, Obama threatens veto
January 8, 2015
New members of Congress were sworn in Tuesday, including three in Iowa's delegation: Sen. Joni Ernst, Rep. David Young and Rep. Rod Blum.
The first week in Congress wasn't all ceremonial. President Obama has issued his first veto threat of the new session. Members of Congress have been working to pass legislation to approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. On Tuesday, 60 members of the Senate introduced a bill to approve the pipeline. Obama issued a threat to veto the legislation.
