Federal Spotlight: Obama, Sanders and Warren Endorse Biden for President

April 16, 2020

Former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden received three very influential and consequential endorsements this week as he is for all intents and purposes now the Democratic presidential nominee for the general election this fall. On Monday, former primary rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) officially announced his support for Mr. Biden. On Tuesday, former President Barack Obama, under whom Mr. Biden served as vice president, endorsed him. Yesterday, another progressive primary opponent of Mr. Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), backed his campaign for president. With Democrats closing ranks, Mr. Biden will have the full force of the party behind him as he challenges President Trump in the fall.
