Gov. Branstad announces water quality funding plan

January 7, 2016

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack joined Gov. Terry Branstad for a bipartisan press conference focused on increasing funding for water quality improvements in Iowa. The proposal seeks to extend the statewide school infrastructure funding by 20 years and use a portion of the new growth in the sales tax to fund water quality improvements. The Legislature will consider this proposal when they convene on Jan. 11.
