Gov. Reynolds Announces Future Ready Iowa Employer Summits

August 1, 2019

On Monday, Gov. Reynolds announced 27 public-private partnership events will take place from September 4 to November 1 to help close the skills gap and build on Iowa’s skilled workforce moving into the future. The Future Ready Iowa Summits will feature presentations about hiring and retraining, collaborating with community partners, and upskilling current employees. Employers, local business members and educators are encouraged to attend. See the full schedule and register for the employer summits. There is no cost to attend the events. ABI is proud to partner with Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Business Council in hosting these events around the state.

In addition to the fall employer summits, earlier this week, Gov. Reynolds highlighted the more than 80,000 available jobs on Iowa Workforce Development’s new employment services website. Gov. Reynolds held a news conference at ABI member UnityPoint Health, which is one of the employers with the most openings on the website.
