House subcommittee moves health care mandate bill

The Iowa House considered Senate File 202, which mandates the copay for occupational therapists, speech pathologists and physical therapists be the same as for your general practitioner. During the subcommittee ABI joined in opposition to the bill. Proponents have argued the bill addresses an equity issue between chiropractors and physical therapists. However, the bill includes more specialists than just physical therapists. ABI will continue to have conversations with House members about the bill and its implications.
