Presidential Watch: Upcoming events draw long list of candidates

  • Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina will hold a meet and greet at Cronks in Denison on Tuesday, April 21, at 6 p.m.
  • On April 24, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will headline a multi-county Northwest Iowa Republican fundraising event at Lifelong Learning & Recreation Center in Sheldon.
  • Congressman David Young (IA-03) will hold an event with Walker on Saturday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m. at The Machine Shed in Urbandale. 
  • The Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition 15th Annual Spring Kick-off on April 25 will feature several potential presidential candidates, including U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Florida), Fiorina, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.), and Walker. The event will take place from 4-9 p.m. at Point of Grace Church in Waukee. It is open to the public and you can register here.
  • On April 29, businessman Donald Trump will speak at Wartburg College in Waverly. The speech, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Neumann Auditorium. No tickets are required.
  • Trump will speak at a Lincoln Club Event at 8 a.m. April 30 in Davenport. The cost is $50 for non-Lincoln Club members. Visit scottcountyrepublicans.org to reserve a seat.
  • Fiorina will participate in the Dallas County GOP spring speakers series on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the West Des Moines Marriott. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door. RSVP to dcgopia@gmail.com
  • Trump will headline a Pottawattamie County GOP fundraiser at Iowa Western Community College on May 15 at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Republican Party of Iowa’s Lincoln Dinner will feature several potential candidates including Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Fiorina, Graham Jindal, Santorum, Trump and Walker. The event is May 16 at 4:30 p.m. at the Iowa Events Center. Tickets are $100 apiece or $750 per county GOP table of 10. Contact laura@iowagop.com for ticket information.
