Reminder: Special state senate election is Dec. 27

December 22, 2016

Now that the General Election is over and the holidays are approaching it’s easy to forget that residents in state Senate District 45, which covers a portion of Davenport and southwest Scott County, will go to the polls on Tuesday, Dec. 27, to cast a ballot for their next state senator. Sen. Joe Seng passed away this fall and two individuals are seeking his seat. Current state Rep. Jim Lykam (D-Davenport) and Davenport resident and LeClaire police officer Mike Gonzales, a Republican, are both running for the seat. If you or your employees live in state Senate District 45, don’t forget to vote! If you plan to be out of town during the holidays, make sure you go to the Scott County Auditor’s office and vote by Friday, Dec. 23.
